Cape Town - A Westlake family is appealing for help to find their cousin who went missing while visiting friends in Hillview.
The worried family of Ryan Tango, 36, said he has been missing for six days and is unreachable on his cellphone after boarding an e-hailing cab home.
Cousin, Jessica Maarman explained that he was last seen on Thursday leaving his home.
“He went to visit friends in Hillview but never came home. His phone is off so we went to Hillview to ask and they said he booked a ride home at 1am in the morning and left their home. Ever since then we have been searching the entire Lavender Hill and Hillview to try and find him.”
Maarman said Tango’s wife is seen crying all the time since his disappearance.
“All she does is cry the entire time because she is very worried. They have a one-year-old child and it’s Christmas in just a few days. We went to report him missing at Kirstenhof SAPS and they told us they only have one van available.”
She said the family has searched hospitals and mortuaries but were unable to find him.
“We were told to return to the mortuary on Monday to see if there is any news. We are very worried. He hardly leaves his house. Now and again he will visit friends in Hillview but he always comes home. We are appealing for any help to find him.”
Police spokesperson, Joseph Swartbooi, confirmed they are aware of the missing person and says the investigating officer is following up on all available leads.
