I'm not a fan of dramatic western films, set in the desert with majestic mountains in the background.

Nor am I the type of person who will walk out of the movie rental store with Jane Got A Gun in hand. Hence I was surprised at how much I enjoyed this film.

What I love about films, whether it be western, romantic or comedy - is the ability they have to transport you into a different reality, all from the comfort of your own couch. For one night, you forget about your own problems and dwell in the life of Jane Hammond.

Jane is a tortured soul, throughout the film her eyes tell of a traumatic past but her strength for survival speaks of the true nature of what a woman will do to protect her family.

If you're feeling adventurous or if you're a die-hard western lover then this film is worth the watch. Featuring horses, dusty roads and violent hungry cowboys always ready for a gun fight - makes for the ideal western film choice.

I loved the ending. Mainly because I didn't see it coming. However no matter what happens in life or the grief you experience, there is always hope at the end of the tunnel.

If there is one sentiment that the audience will be able to relate in this film despite the western setting, its the fact that one never knows what the future might bring.

That's the beauty of surprises.
