Johannesburg - In the second instalment of the biggest event in local film and television, actors and actresses got their chance to shine.

On Sunday night, the 10th South African Film and Television Awards (Saftas), hosted by TV personalities Katlego Maboe and Minnie Dlamini, had more glitz and glamour than the first ceremony on Friday.

Leeanda Reddy, who plays Priya in the soapie Isidingo, won on both the red carpet and the stage. She took home a golden horn for best actress in a lead role for a television soap.

Reddy wore a jaw-dropping and elaborate mint and black gown, revealing a lot of leg.

Another snappily dressed winner was Vusi Kunene, who plays Bhekifa in Mzansi Magic's popular Isibaya 3. He won the award for best actor in a lead role in a television soap. He walked to the podium looking stylish in a grey and red suit with black detailing.

Jacob Zuma also walked the red carpet. Well, a Jacob Zuma puppet from the satire show ZA News did. He took home a best TV comedy award for ZA News’ Puppet Nation.

The best TV drama award went to Umlilo, produced by Quizzical Pictures. Umlilo and Isibaya actress Nomzamo Mbatha was one of the cast members there to represent the winning drama. She wore a gown with a transparent top, beaded and embroidered details covering strategic areas of her chest. She looked radiant with an Afro framing her face.

Quizzical Pictures bagged another win when they were given the best TV soap award for Rhythm City.

Another actress who radiated on the red carpet was Terry Pheto, who graced it wearing a rose gold evening dress. The movie she produced, Ayanda, didn't win the much-coveted best feature film award, but lead actress Fulu Mughovani won best actress in a lead role (feature film).

The best feature film golden horn went to Dis ek, Anna by Palama Productions. Marius Weyers took home the best actor in a supporting role (feature film) for it, and the film’s director, Sara Blecher, won best achievement in directing. She also directed Ayanda.

Best actor in a lead role - Mduduzi Mabaso Motheo inFor Love and Broken Bones
