Happy National Boyfriend Day! Have you ever fallen in love with a fictional character, and in your head, they were your ideal boyfriend because they ticked all the boxes on your list?

National Boyfriend Day is celebrated on October 3 in the United States. Reportedly, the day was created by netizens around 2014 to celebrate their boyfriends.

In celebrating National Boyfriend Day, IOL takes a look at some of the most dashing on-screen boyfriends. So, prepare to fall in love with the most adorable and iconic on-screen boyfriends.

Jim Halpert (The Office)

First on the list is none other than Jim Halpert. If you’ve watched The Office, you are probably nodding your head as you read this.

Besides his unwavering love for his office crush, Pam Beesly, his humour and thoughtfulness are among the amazing qualities that Beesly fell for, which ultimately led to them getting married and having two children.

Nick Young (Crazy Rich Asians)

Every woman deserves a boyfriend who will always defend her, whether it’s from loved ones or strangers, and Nick Young is just that.

Despite his mother and family’s disapproval of his girlfriend, he still manages to stand up for Rachel while being kind yet assertive about her choices. His looks are definitely a plus because he sure is a looker.

Peter Kavinsky (To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before)

Peter Kavinsky is not your typical high school jock who is known by everyone and then belittles the unpopular ones.

He is definitely confident, sweet, and attentive, and he genuinely cares about others. He is a joker but becomes serious and intentional when it comes to his relationship with his girlfriend, Lara Jean.

He makes her feel valued and secure, even with all the girls who drool over him. I mean, who does not love a little reassurance now and then?

Augustus Waters (The Fault in Our Stars)

Grab your tissues for this one. Augustus Waters is a tall, handsome, and intelligent blue-eyed boy who suffers from Osteosarcoma, a form of cancer, just like his girlfriend, Hazel Grace Lancaster, whom he met at a cancer support group.

He is witty and charming and deeply cares for his girlfriend until his last day on earth. He also fears disappearing, so he always wants to leave a mark, which he certainly did for Hazel Grace, even after dying from the spread of cancer.

They make the cutest couple and share the same interests — a quality every girl dreams of.

Noah Flynn (The Kissing Booth)

Now, no boyfriend is perfect (even though they totally should be), this on-screen boyfriend manages to portray his flaws, giving a realistic feel.

Though he is imperfect, flaky and indecisive, he ultimately shows his loving and protective side to his brother’s best friend Elle, who later becomes his girlfriend.

One thing Noah Flynn ends up being to her is supportive and genuine, but that’s after he finally admits his true feelings to himself. He definitely represents the cute but somewhat chaotic boys, still cute!
