Actress Nomzamo Mbatha is a very busy woman, just this past week she was in South Africa working with brands Levis, and Neutrogena and also hosting the Empowering HER Seminar.

The “Shaka iLembe” actress is now globe trotting in New York but before her venture, she announced the growth of her partnership with the global skincare brand Neutrogena.

Mbatha hosted the launch of the brand’s new body care range, interacting with guests about all things skincare and lifestyle.

The philanthropist has a way of interacting with people that makes them feel at ease and want to engage with her.

At the Empowering HER Seminar, she walked around the venue personally greeting guests, taking selfies with those who asked as she carried herself with grace in white, which seems to be her go-to colour.

Even at the Neutrogena event, it’s by luck her oversized white ensemble didn't have makeup stains by the end of the night.

Mbatha describes her relationship with Neutrogena as being “organic” and they have the same social messaging.

“The things that I choose to lend my voice to are parallel to what Neutrogena or Kenvue wants to lend their voice to.

“I'm very grateful that we continue to want to be in this together and it's a brand that's always meant so much to me.

“The women that have always represented the brand are the women that I've always been inclined to and have always felt some kind of emulation in terms of how they've carried themselves and how they've empowered women to see themselves.”

Neutrogena’s Brand Manager Fanelwa Xhiphu, agreed with Mbatha that their relationship was an organic one that was not forced but rather has strengthened over time.

“I think it's also just people looking at the relationship and watching it from where it started to where it is today. It's been a beautiful journey, we understand each other. It doesn't feel like it's forced or like a lot of effort has to go into it.”

Being in the limelight, and having a busy life that includes long flights, days on sets or back-to-back appearances can take a toll on a person. Mbatha emphasises the importance of taking care of her skin, which starts with living a healthy lifestyle.

Mbatha loves playing around with skincare, and trying out new things but also loves what her body loves, like moisturising her body while wet following a shower.

“I’m like oh my skin positively responds to that so those are the things that I always push when it comes to holisticness.”

The actress adds it’s not about having perfect skin but healthy skin which is why the conversation needs to move past the perfection narrative, especially when it comes to body image and how they see themselves.
