Should people be allowed to enter shops wearing their pyjamas?
This is what people are debating after a woman shared a video on TikTok saying that she wasn’t allowed into a store because she was wearing her PJs.
“Since when are you not allowed to go shopping in your pyjamas?” Alessandra asked, as she shows viewers what she’s wearing.
She goes on to explain that she was kicked out of Food Lover’s Market.
“We waiting for our geyser to warm up. We decided to do our grocery shopping for the week,” she shares.
Clearly not impressed that she wasn’t able to go shopping in her floral print pyjamas, she shares that she always goes shopping in her pyjamas.
The video with the overlay caption: “it’s 8.30am on a Sunday morning and we got kicked out of Food Lovers Market??” has since gone viral with 203,000 views and over 6,000 likes.
@alessandradoesstuff South Africa is this new???
However, it’s in the comment section where all the action is happening.
Most people are not in agreement with her wanting to leave the house in her pyjamas.
“I’m more shocked that you don’t see anything wrong with it,” commented one viewer.
Another commented on the fact that she hasn’t bathed yet, saying: “More importantly … why are you going to public places before bathing??”
“Since forever my babe. Be hygienic and love yourself. Dress up, look presentable in public,” suggested one other person.
Another asked: “Why did you get out of your yard with pajamas chommee?”
To which Alessandra responded: “Why not?? It’s just clothes.”
“It’s always been like that,” commented someone.
“But I’ve done this for months. This is the first time this has ever happened??” Alessandra responded.
Many in the comment section are commending the store for not allowing her to enter in her pyjamas.
What do you think? Should people be allowed to go shopping in their pyjamas?
