The Msunduzi Municipality’s acting Municipal Manager Sabelo Hlela said the Msunduzi Council is deeply saddened by the untimely passing of Mthetho Ephraim Mpulo, he passed away on Saturday.
Hlela, said Mpulo was a PR Councillor, representing the EFF. He served in the Infrastructure Services Portfolio Committee where he made significant contributions to the committee. His unwavering commitment and his dedication to serving the community will be fondly remembered, said Hlela.
“In accordance with the municipality’s tradition of honouring the contributions of our councillors, the council resolved to accord the Civic Funeral Status to councillor Mpulo. A Special Council will also take place on Thursday, 01 August 2024 to commemorate the life of the departed Councillor. This reflects the respect and gratitude we hold for his significant impact and the exemplary dedication he demonstrated throughout his tenure,” Hlela said.
He added that details regarding the memorial service and funeral arrangements will be communicated to the public as soon as they are finalised.
“We extend our heartfelt condolences to councillor Mpulo’s family, friends, and colleagues during this difficult time. His legacy of service and leadership will continue to inspire and guide us as we move forward. May his soul rest in peace as his memory continues to inspire and guide those he has left behind.”
