This Saturday (July 16) will see South Africa's largest annual gathering of Ferraris when about 150 of the world's most iconic sports cars scream on to the Kyalami circuit in Midrand.

The Ferrari Track Day will be hosted by the Southern Equitorial Ferrari Automobili Club, which was founded in 1967 under the patronage of "Il Commendatore" Enzo Ferrari, making it the oldest Ferrari owners' club in the world.

Most of the Club's more than 200 Gauteng members will be present, not just to show off their Maranello masterpieces, but to drive them on the circuit. Cars on track are set to include a fire-breathing F40, the super-exclusive 458 Italia, F430 Scuderia 16M and a super California as well as classics such as the Dino, the 550 Barchetta, and a 365GTB/4 Daytona.

Track day sponsor Pirelli will also be giving a few lucky guests a ride around the track in a classic Ferrari 308 - made famous in the 1980s in the television series Magnum PI - but sorry, ladies, Mr Selleck will not be available to chauffeur.

The track will be open to Ferrari drivers from 9am to about 4pm, and the public are welcome to watch (and hear!) these dream machines running the way Ferrari intended them to: fast!

Entrance will be free, food and beverages will be on sale throughout the day and Ster-Kinekor will be demonstrating two of its latest racing video games - Gran Turismo 5 and SBK 2011 - in the Pirelli pit, so bring your camera and make a day of it.
