Ingolstadt, Germany - Audi's beastly RS7 only just hit South African streets earlier in the year, but now it's already an 'old' model.
Following the reveal of the A7 range facelift that was announced in Germany recently, and which it didn't really need as far as we're concerned, Audi has now pulled the covers off the freshened RS7.
The newcomer follows the expected evolutionary path with a new honeycomb grille featuring 'bevelled' upper edges and slanty new LED headlights to match. Matrix LED lights are optional for those seeking the ultimate in futuristic illumination. A new inner design for the taillights is the only noteworthy change to the RS7's rear end.
Rounding off the styling changes are a range of new paint finishes like the pearl effect Sepang Blue and metallics like Floret Silver and Mythos Black. There's plenty of scope for individualisation with the RS7 as buyers can choose from three optional styling packages, namely: matt aluminium, gloss black and carbon.
A few minor design changes can be spotted in the cabin, such as the vent nozzles and shift paddles, but the big news is the upgrade to a latest generation MMI navigation plus infotainment system with MMI touch.
On the mechanical front, Audi felt there was nothing worth tinkering with and who are we to argue against the continuation of a beefy 4-litre turbopetrol V8 that shoves 412kW and 700Nm through an eight-speed Tiptronic gearbox and Quattro all-wheel drive system to achieve a 3.9-second 0-100km/h sprint at the coast?

Expect the new RS7 to form part of the facelifted A7 line-up that's scheduled to reach South African shores in early 2015.
