If there is one Audi that we at IOL Motoring would love to drive, it's the RSQ driven by Will Smith in the big-screen adaptation of Isaac Asimov's science-fiction classic ‘I, Robot’.
And yes Cyril, we've seen it, and it even sexier in real life than it is on the screen.
Now the technogeeks at Audi have taken another giant leap into vorsprung durch technik with the fleet shuttle quattro, a "futuristic, progressive and cutting edge" concept (we're quoting here) for a new sci-fi epic by Oscar-winning South African director Gavin Hood called ‘Ender's Game’.
It's the first completely virtual Audi to appear in a feature film.
Audi designers worked together with Hood and the production team to seamlessly integrate the fleet shuttle quattro into the futuristic environment of the film.
Audi brand partnership director Florian Zitzlsperger explained that the technologically advanced world of ‘Ender's Game’ was reflected in the design of the car.
"The shuttle represents progress," he said, "and it appears in key scenes that have a lasting effect on the life of the hero. As a result, our Audi becomes part of this fictional world."
