Just to rev up your Tuesday morning, check out this video of Edo Competition's day out at the Nurburgring, where they put their own modified Ferrari ZXX up against a Maserati MC12 Corsa.

To save you looking it up, the Maserati has a six-litre V12 pushing 555kW at 8000rpm and 740Nm at 5500rpm.

The ZXX, on the other hand, has a history. This is the same yellow car that started life as an Enzo, and was then tweaked to racing specifications by Edo Competition for wealthy customer Zahis Rana - who promptly crashed it big time on the 2011 Targa Newfoundland!

LOUD AND PROUD

Edo rebuilt the car with a 618kW, 780Nm, 6.3-litre V12 that gets it to 100km/h in 3.2 seconds, 200 in nine seconds flat and 300 in 19!

Neither car is running ten-tenths in this video, however. 'Ring management asked Edo to keep within the bounds of sanity because the cars are just to loud even for the Nordschleife; the ZXX produces 142dB and the Maserati an eye-watering 147.

Hear the Edo Ferrari ZXX at full chat.
