Formula 1 fans and journalists piled up in the cold and misty weather on a bridge overlooking the Fiorano circuit in Italy where Lewis Hamilton was taking his first lap in a Ferrari.

Fans braved the cold to hopefully catch a glimpse of the seven-time World Champion steering the crimson horse around the Ferrari test track.

Scuderia Ferrari shared visuals on X showing Hamilton leave Enzo Ferrari’s famous farm home and getting into his new car.

Visuals from Sky News showed a thick layer of mist over the track, as Hamilton could barely be seen weaving his way around the circuit. Fans voiced their opinions about the 2025 Ferrari pair, which includes Hamilton and Charles Leclerc, and hopes for the upcoming season.

“Charles is a little bit faster on the qualifying lap and then in the race, maybe Lewis has more experience to manage the whole race. For sure, it also depends on the feeling with the team, the pit stops and everything,” a Ferrari fan said.

“The eight title of Lewis here at Ferrari and overtaking Schumi with world titles will be interesting to see. But also for Charles, it should be a good opportunity for him to write his name in history,” he added.

Another fan said: “Lewis is a good driver and great person and a man on many missions as they say. We can’t wait to see him do his first laps here. It's a date with history.”

Fans also got something to celebrate online, after the Scuderia team shared a picture of Hamilton in the Ferrari racing suit for the first time.

While the F1 world eagerly awaits Lewis cutting loose, the British champion must quickly acquaint himself with Ferrari customs and his engineering team under the leadership of Fred Vasseur. More importantly, Hamilton needs to get a feel of his new drive.

He has just over a month before pre-season testing gets under way at the Bahrain International Circuit on February 26, 27 and 28. Hamilton won a staggering 105 races in his career and hopes to make history by winning his eighth title with the most decorated F1 team.
