First National Bank petitioned the Supreme Court of Appeal (SCA) this week after its application for leave to appeal against a ruling by the Pretoria High Court in December last year was turned down.

The Pretoria High Court ruled in favour of the National Lotteries Board, which argued that the Million-a-Month account was illegal and in contravention of the National Lotteries Act.

FNB spokesperson Xolisa Vapi says the bank is confident that the SCA will rule in favour of the Million-a-Month account and the draw for April will continue as planned.
