The estate, with spectacular sea and inland views, offers upmarket coastal living with most of the infrastructure in place, including roads and water and electrical supply.

Craig Wood, who is handling the tender contract for Ian Wyles, says the eco-estate, on the R620 Marine Drive, has more than 350 individual stands and is close to all essential amenities such as three private and two public hospitals; schools; the South Coast Mall and other shopping centres; five championship golf courses, as well as Margate Airport.

“Shelly Beach has always been a very popular holiday destination for Gauteng visitors but it now also has many permanent residents which has led to the establishment of many retail and office operations and related facilities in the fast-growing South Coast town,” says Wood.

“This growth has led to plans for several upmarket residential developments such as Sunrise Bay where, sadly, the developers encountered financial problems. But the foundation has been laid for a developer with capital to turn the lovely estate’s fortunes around.”

He says 36 hectares of Sunrise Bay’s total extent of about 104ha is a conservation area, home to an abundance of wildlife including various eagle and crane species; porcupine; mongoose; duiker; suni antelope and many other species which roam freely over the estate.

It is next door to horse stables and a riding trail. Tenders close on July 31 at noon. For more information, visit https://www.ianwyles.co.za/auctions/iwo3440/ or contact Craig Wood at 083 799 4403 or email craig@ianwyles.co.za
