Celebs dazzle at the opening party for South African Fashion Week

The prelude to the South African Fashion Week always showcases the crème de la crème of the South African fashion scene, setting a high bar for style, sophistication, and innovation.

CRUZ Vodka hosted yet another unforgettable opening party for South African Fashion Week following the iconic Studio 54 theme that had guests show up in their head-turning ensembles.

Among the notable guests were renowned stylist to the stars Phupho Gumede, Durban’s charismatic socialite, Naliyani Uma, Gigi Lamayne, Maps Maponyane, Penny Lebyane, Robot Boii, Kayise Ngqula, Yaya Mavundla, Money Badoo, Jo Judnick-Wilson, Vourne Kgosinkwe, DJ Doowap, Margo Fargo, Lord Kez, and the reigning Mr. Supranational Fezile Mkhize, all bringing their unique style and charisma to the red carpet.

Media personalities Zanele Potelwa, Caddy Tsotetsi, and Dimpho Mokgotho showed up, as well as Big Brother winner Khosi Twala and social media stars Coachella Randy and Kagiso Mogola, all adding their own personal rendition of the Studio 54 theme with their fashion ensembles.

Fashion designers Ole Ledimo and Msukisi Mbane truly delivered the essence of their brands.

As guests mingled and danced the night away, they indulged in hand-crafted signature CRUZ cocktails, expertly curated to reflect the fusion of Studio 54 sophistication with the essence of CRUZ Vodka.

The atmosphere buzzed with excitement, heralding the start of an extraordinary journey through the realms of fashion, art, and self-expression.

Entertainment for the night included a Studio 54-themed showcase with the iconic first lady of dance, Tamara Dey, alongside Lelo Whats Good and Tink, who kept the energy high and the dance floor alive.

The launch party signalled the start of a fruitful partnership as well as a new chapter in South African fashion history.

The event also served as a fitting prelude to the spectacular fashion show that takes place during South African Fashion Week, with Sandton serving as its background and the best of the industry in attendance.

SA Fashion Week runway presentations have begun, showing an astounding diversity of South African fashion to eager viewers until Saturday, September 28.
