Bafana Bafana have arrived in Seychelles, and it’s not difficult to guess what they did immediately – cool off at the beach.

Star goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune posted a photo on Twitter of himself with a few teammates enjoying the “31 degrees” on the Indian Ocean island on Monday to recharge their batteries after travelling from Johannesburg, which is about a five-hour flight.

The South Africans are in a confident mood after thrashing Seychelles 6-0 in a 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier at the FNB Stadium on Saturday.

Seychelles scored an own goal through Nigel Nigel, and that sparked a goal-rush as Bafana captain Thulani Hlatshwayo and Lebo Mothiba found the back of the net within three minutes of each other, which saw the hosts lead 3-0 at halftime.

Percy Tau eventually hit the target after finding the crossbar with a free kick and missing a number of other opportunities, and Dino Ndlovu and Teboho Mokoena rounded off the scoring.

But while Bafana relaxed on Monday morning, coach Stuart Baxter has urged his team to show the same kind of ruthlessness at the Stade Linité on Tuesday (2.30pm SA time kickoff).

“I want to see that type of passion when we go there, we are not thinking of the past result; that is gone and this is a new game altogether,” Baxter said at the post-match press conference.

“We had a good win, but we should not be carried away. There was a new wave, the swagger from all the players; although one swallow doesn’t make a summer, the young players really showed lots of promise and that’s encouraging all round.

“We are aware what Seychelles are capable of; they created two big chances against Nigeria, and they would think they have a chance if they sit back in the opening minutes and frustrate us; we need to guard against that.”
